I had the opportunity to review Bloco's Lizards & Chameleons construction set as well as their Primates of the World Chimpanzee with my kids.  I was completely surprised at just how much fun these toys were.  The construction process is unique, simple, and super fun!  From start to finish, my kids and I had a lot of fun putting the toys together!  After we completed them, my kids had tons of fun playing with the creations and using their imaginations to bring the toys to life. 

Bloco toys actually uses "innovative patented pieces which interlink, stack and rotate at any angle to create a virtually endless permutation of creatures."  Their pieces are also highly dense, safe, easily to manipulate, washable, and I also found them to be very durable!  My two year old was being pretty rough with them and I was certain something was going to end up broken, but the pieces were able to withstand all of the harsh wear and tear from my son--it was great!

Somethings that I particularily like about the Bloco toys are:

- They are soft which makes putting them together easy on the hands and safe during play

- The toys are moveable and can be manipulated into different positions

- You can take the toys apart and put them together over and over again for hours of endless fun

- The toys actually nuture fine motor skills as well as shape recognition

Gift Guide: Mindware Review & GIVEAWAY (closed)

MindWare has excellent educational games, learning toys, and more!

My daughter was able to receive their award winning game: The Cat in the Hat I Can Do That! Deluxe Edition! 

We invited some friends of my daughter's over and broke out the game to play! The game was so much fun! To play the game, you pick a card from each of the three piles, combine them, and use the props included in the game to complete a certain task. Like in the example shown below: Jump Three Times-With the Fish-Between Your Elbows. If the child thinks they can do it, they say "I Can Do That!" and gives it a try. They take the soft fish bowl piece, put it in between their elbows, and jump. There are tons of different combinations of tasks to complete. They use a variety of objects like a ball, plate, etc. along with physical movements. There is even a timer for timed activities which makes things fun as well. The girls had so much fun playing the game and laughed the whole way through! I played along with them and had a blast as well! I had to do a crab crawl to the refrigerator with a ball on my tummy before the time ran out and all of the girls laughed so hard! It was fun and I'm sure we will continue to play it with lots more friends!

The Cat in the Hat I Can Do That! game has won multiple awards including the Dr. Toy 100 Best Children's Products Award, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Best Toy Award, and the Parents' Choice Gold Award.  It is a great game because it "can be customized to create an encouraging, positive experience for learners of all abilities."

Gift Guide: The Orb Factory Review & GIVEAWAY CLOSED

Not only do they pride themselves on making high quality, creative, and fun products, but I LOVE that The Orb Factory integrates an educational component into each of their items to encourage learning and growth!

I was thrilled for the opportunity to review one of their items and received the Fashion Flowers kit to use with my daughter.  My daughter is definitely into all things girly and the Fashion Flowers kit completely fit her style!  The kit comes with lots of different accessory pieces--headbands, bracelets, necklaces, and a headpiece--which you are able to design yourself using all of the pretty sparkly bling it comes with.  Jewels galore and shinny accents came in the box and each set of "bling" corresponded to a number.  To put the pieces together, you simply match up the numbered jewels to the numbered spaces on the pieces.  Making the accessories in the kit was a perfect way for my daughter to practice her numbers along with some motor coordination using the different small pieces and lining them up correctly in the spaces.  All of the things she made turned out to be amazing and gorgeous.  She felt so proud knowing she made them (along with some help from me) and now she could show them off to all her friends--she actually took them for her Show and Tell today in school!  We had a great time with the Fashion Flowers kit!  It was easy to use, had awesome educational elements to it, and my daughter is able to use the things she created in her playtime and more! 

The Orb Factory has TONS of great kits and products for kids that make awesome holiday gifts!  We had such a fun time with ours, I'm sure we will get more!

My kids received a cute Hippopotamus from the Wild collection and a Torosaurus from the Prehistoric set.  Immediately after we got our animal, we went onto the Anamalz website to learn more about each one.  The Anamalz website has some super fun and interesting information on each of their animals including name, nickname, characteristics, height, weight, location, and other interesting facts about the real animals the toys represent.  This made playing with the toys so much more fun!  Not only did they learn a lot about the animals, but it was cute to see take what they learned into their play.  The Hippo loved swimming around and the Toro kept looking for some yummy leaves and trees to eat.

These toys are truly unique and fun!  I really love the educational insight into them, their eco-friendly aspects, the fact that they are wooden, durable, and safe, as well as the fact that they are just so stinkin cute!  Something that makes them stand out among other wooden toys is their detailing (horns, colorful body features made of fabric, etc.) and that they are actually poseable!  You can bend their legs and arms into different positions which makes them come to life during play!  My preschool kids really love them and I can't wait to add more to their collection!
