The Miracle Ball Method for Pregnancy...Review & Giveaway!

I have three children and two of them are twins.  I am a small girl (just under 5ft 3 inches) and I was absolutely enormous when I was pregnant with A&W.  Three years later when I was about to deliver Baby R I was not quite so huge but, I am not going to lie, I was carrying around one baby and the aftermath of lots of ice cream cravings.  I am sure you can imagine my poor stomach...even after having lost all of the baby weight there was still a lot of work to be done there.  When I was contacted by my friends at Workman Publishing to review a new book called, The Miracle Ball Method for Pregnancy which claims to help regain a flat belly (among other things!) I jumped at the chance.  Here is the scoop...

Backaches, indigestion, sore feet, elevated stress, difficulty breathing.  Each year, 4 million women experience these and other physical discomforts and assume they are unavoidable side effects of pregnancy.
What they don’t know is that there is a simple solution:  Reduce muscle tension.

THE MIRACLE BALL METHOD FOR PREGNANCY (Workman; May 17, 2011) by Elaine Petrone is a low-impact, non-invasive series of “unexercises” that relax muscles and allow the body to realign and reshape as it adjusts to accommodate a growing baby. By simply resting on these two small balls—included with the book—and breathing deeply for as little as five minutes each day, women will feel the familiar symptoms of pregnancy disappear as their bodies become more relaxed and aligned. And the ultimate bonus: The method will help any woman regain a flat belly after birth!

Using the same easy-to-follow style of instruction as Petrone’s million-copy bestseller The Miracle Ball Method (Workman; 2003), THE MIRACLE BALL METHOD FOR PREGNANCY includes positions for problem areas—Neck on the Ball, the Rib Cage Side Stretch—and whole-body moves like Standing Body Hang Over. There are variations to use in later months when it’s no longer advised to lie flat on your back. In addition, the breathing exercises help relieve anxiety and fatigue and are excellent preparation for labor. And the method is so low-impact you can get started almost immediately after delivery, even a C-section.

A complete kit containing two squishy Miracle Balls and a fully illustrated companion book, THE MIRACLE BALL METHOD FOR PREGNANCY works because it relaxes the muscle tension that keeps your body misaligned.  You have nothing to lose and everything to gain from this low-maintenance, non-invasive, gentle method of bodywork.

Wow....I really wish I'd had this during my pregnancies to take full advantage of the benefits.  Those squishy little balls really are a miracle.  Even while not pregnant I have quite a bit of back pain in my lower back and I put these little squishy balls to work and they really made a difference.  They provide just enough pressure to the spots that are aching, providing instant relief.  I found the book to be very easy to follow and the method very easy to use with no complicated movements that would be too hard to do when you are in the less than graceful stages of late pregnancy.  As for the flat belly, again, I wish I'd had this to start while I was pregnant.  I think by using those muscles more during my pregnancy and the time after my c-sections would have made a tremendous difference in how I bounced back.  The Miracle Ball Method for Pregnancy is a must have for those who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.  The method is easy to do and will provide relief from some of pregnancy's biggest woes!  Thumbs up for The Method!  You can pick up your copy today on Amazon...
