Last week my family went to the museum where we visited the space exhibit. My daughter was very impressed and loved every minute of it. She was first introduced to the solar system not too long ago through Teach My's Solar System Add-On Kit. We have the Teach My Baby All-In-One Kit, so we were ecstatic to add The Solar System to it. The Solar System by Teach My is the perfect beginner kit to the solar system because it is simple and easy to follow. The Add-On Kit includes: 1 Book, 1 Full Size Poster, 10 Flashcards, 1 Poster, a Teaching guide and a Re-Sealable Storage Bag.
The Teach My Solar System book includes one "highlighted characteristic for each planet and each planet's place within the solar system." The simplicity of the book is perfect for my daughter because it does not overwhelm her. She can easily understand the placement of each planet, and a fun fact about that planet. The text is easy to read and the photos are fun to look at!
Something I really like about this kit is everything matches. The pictures of the planets are the same on the poster, puzzle, in the book, and on the flashcards, which makes it very easy for my daughter to connect each photo with one another.
The Solar System Flashcards are great because they have the picture of the planet on one side and the planet spelled out on the other, so they can see the picture, and hear the pronunciation while looking at the word.
Lastly, the Solar System kit comes with a fun puzzle with the sun and all of the planets. My daughter loves the puzzle and placing each planet into the right spot.
We have really enjoyed this Add-On kit and have had a blast learning about the planets. The only thing I would change to the kit would be the puzzle. We have found that some of the planets are a tad difficult to get into their spots, but besides that, this kit is a great learning tool for those space lovers out there!
