What are Wikki Stix made of?
Wikki Stix are made of hand-knitting yarn enhanced with a microcrystalline food-grade, non-toxic wax, the kind used in bubble gum and lipstick. They do not contain latex, gluten, nor peanut or other nut oils or byproducts which makes them an ideal creative activity toy for children with allergies.
How do they work?
Simply stated…they stick! No glue, no paste, no mess. Just press them down with light fingertip pressure and they will adhere to almost any smooth surface. They are also easy to peel up and reposition so “mistakes” virtually disappear, which helps build self-confidence. There is no preparation, no clean-up, no mess. Press ‘em down, peel ‘em off… it’s that simple!
I was delighted to have the opportunity to work with Wikki Stix this year and to share this wonderful company with you! My daughter loves playing with Wikki Stix and was ecstatic when she received the Activity Set and the Tons of Fun set to review.
The Activity Set comes with 84 Wikki Stix in a variety of colors and it includes two sizes. It comes with a very handy white board that makes a great surface for creating fun pictures on. The Activity Set really is a do what you want kit, and is great for younger kids because there is no right or wrong way with this Wikki Stix kit. I have been using this kit as an educational way to teach my daughter, as well as letting her explore on her own.
My daughter who is almost three has a blast with Wikki Stix and loves learning and creating new things! We were working on our shapes, numbers and letters, she did great!
Also in the kit are dot-to-dot animal sheets. You simply connect the dots with your Wikki Stix to create a fun animal. Then you flip it over onto your white board and peel off the dot-to-dot paper, transferring your photo to the white board so you can decorate it. My husband made a dinosaur for her and she loved it!
I actually was getting into it too and was trying to come up with some fun things to make! I made a Wikki Stix Man!
The other item we reviewed was the Tons of Fun kit, which comes in a see-through vinyl case. The case is very handy because it keeps all the supplies together and it's easy to grab when I need a fun activity to do with my kids. This specific kit comes with 96 Wikki Stix and lots of activity ideas and supplies.
I actually was getting into it too and was trying to come up with some fun things to make! I made a Wikki Stix Man!
This specific kit is more about following directions, and is geared toward older kids. There is however, lots of things that younger kids can do too!
We had fun making these blank faces into funny faces!
I let my daughter explore with her Wikki Stix while my husband and I played a game together that was included in the Tons of Fun Kit. How it worked was, we spun the dial, and on each space is a theme, such as "things outdoors." We then had to create something as fast as we could, then we showed it to my daughter and if she could tell what it was, we were the winner. We were laughing the whole time, it was hilarious! My husband made a lamp for "things indoors" and my daughter thought it was a pacifier. He lost!
