Clue: The World of Harry Potter....Review!

If you are like most people, you or someone you love is a Harry Potter fan.  My kids are too little to watch so, in our household it is me who is the current super fan.  I adored the books and the movies and I can't wait until the kids are old enough for me to introduce the magical world of Harry and his friends to them.  I have been especially excited about the final movie (which I still have not been to see!!) so when Hasbro sent over Clue:  The World of Harry Potter for me to review I was SO excited.

Clue was a game that my parents played with me all the time growing up.  I was an only child and my parents and I would have big game marathons and Clue was a staple of this beloved family time.  I could not wait to see how a favorite game would mix with a favorite movie.  Here is the scoop...

A classic game meets a classic story! In Clue World of Harry Potter there are Dark Forces at work. A friend has vanished and its up to you to rescue them before its too late. Playing as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna or Neville, you must try to discover who did it, what spell or item they used and where the student was attacked. Was it Fenrir Greyback with a Cursed Necklace in the Forbidden Forest?
Use the Floo Network to travel faster through the wizarding world -- but watch out for unlit fireplaces! When you're sure of your facts, return to the Burrow to make your final accusations and win the game!

My take?  An old favorite with a fun twist!!  The basics of the game are the same but the movements around the board are different thanks to that handy floo powder.  The rooms are different as well with places like Gringott's, Hogwarts and The Burrow which makes it so much for Harry Potter fans (me!!).  This game would be an absolute hit for any Harry Potter fan (the game recommendation is 9 and up but I think it would be suitable for slightly younger ages as well) and is still enjoyable for non fans although they might not "get" all the spells and characters.  Hooray for Harry Potter and Clue....a fantastic match up!  You can pick up this game today on Amazon...

*Disclosure:  I was given the above mentioned game for purpose of review.  As always, the opinions expressed are 100% honest and my own.
