My oldest daughter has always loved rocks. When she was smaller she would always have two rocks in her fists when we went for walks. She would stop dead in her tracks to pick up a rock that I couldn't even see! As she is getting older I thought she would love the experience of breaking open real geodes.

I was a little apprehensive to break open these extremely old geodes, but it was so worth it! My daughter and my husband and I had a blast breaking these open. We broke the first one open in our basement, then we decided to go outside because it was a little messy. When we got them open, they were so beautiful, my daughter couldn't believe it! This kit has really fascinated my daughter and her interest in rocks, if that is even possible! We went to the museum today and walked through the Gems and Minerals Exhibit, which we were able to relate back to this Geodes Kit which was neat!
