Brooklyn5and10 Review & GIVEAWAY (closed)

Brooklyn5and10 has such a great selection of fresh, unique, and trend-setting items!
Something that I have always wanted in my home was an herb garden.  No more heading out to the grocer to pick up so-called "fresh" herbs or having to buy a huge pack of something that you just need a little of!  That's why I was so thrilled when Brooklyn5and10 sent me their adorable Half Pint Garden as well as some of their Matchstick Garden packs!
The Half Pint Garden is a fun herb growing kit that comes in a little milk carton package.  Inside there is a ceramic container, 3 different packets of herb seeds, and peat pellets.  All you have to do is add water, carefully sow the little seeds, and place in a warm and sunny window sill.  Before you know if you have basil, thyme, or mint right in the comfort of your home.  Not only did I love the cute packaging which I thought would make for such a cute gift, but the white ceramic container is so fresh and clean and would look great in any kitchen!  I couldn't believe how easy and simple the herb garden was to do and instantly regretted not getting one before now!
The other amazing product I got from them, the Matchstick Garden Packs, was also a blast to have as well!  Super ingenious, this each little matchbook contains matchsticks lined with tiny seeds.  All you need to do is tear one of the matchsticks off (they don't really ignite) and plant it face down in some soil (the tip with the seeds goes down in the dirt).  Give it water, sun, and a little love...and tada--fresh herbs!  You can buy different herb matchbook sets.  I got the basil, chives, parsley, and thyme one!   Just like the Half Pint Garden, the Matchstick Garden Packs were very easy to use and has such an incredibly rewarding outcome!
I am hooked on all the new fresh herbs I have and have been making several yummy recipes to use them in.  Another plus that you might not think of is the incredible smell!  I am really loving the mint right now which is perfect for the holiday season!

The New & Improved PAM Cooking Spray REVIEW

Just in time for all of your holiday cooking, PAM has come out with a new and improved formula!  This new formula of PAM cooking spray has been shown to be 70% better at attacking baked on food versus your other bargain cooking sprays!
I was super lucky to be able to receive a PAM cooking kit from Smiley 360 which included:

- A Pyrex Glass Dish
- A PAM Spatula
Using my kit and the Everyday Kitchen Tips I found on the PAM website, I was able to cook a variety of things including caseroles, muffins, cupcakes, paninis, grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade breads, and more!  Each meal item came out perfect!  There was no sticking to anything!  I also liked that I didn't need to use butter for our tortillas and bread when we made grilled cheese, paninis, and more!

Rally for Recess: Danimals Giveaway!

Happy 35th Anniversary Pop Rocks...Giveaway!

I am pretty sure I don't know anyone who has not heard of the fun, popping candy, Pop Rocks.  Pop Rocks were HUGE when I was a kid and were not only yummy and fun to eat but surrounded by the possiblity of "danger".  The word around my little private school was that if you had pop rocks and soda together you would explode which was the rumored fate of little Mikey from the Life cereal ads (both just rumors I assure you!!).  In any case, Pop Rocks have always been a favorite of mine which was why I was SO excited to be included in their 35th Anniversary celebration!




Pop Rocks are 35 years old and in celebration of this milestone they are re-introducing their "retro" flavor....Grape!! 

Grape was an original Pop Rocks flavor but has not been available for nearly 3 decades!  I was lucky enough to be sent some Grape Pop Rocks to sample with A&W and they were as yummy as I remembered!  A&W had never had Pop Rocks before and they thought it was hilarious the way they popped and exploded in their mouths.  Let's face it...candy is pretty great but when you add the fun aspect of a mini mouth explosion you can't go wrong!  Happy Anniversary, Pop Rocks!  I am sure we will still be enjoying your yumminess for many more years!

Enjoy Life Foods: Crunchy Cookies....Review & Giveaway!

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Enjoy Life Foods.  They are one of my go to companies for baked goods and snacks.  My son W has a tree nut allergy and Enjoy Life Foods are free from the top allergens making this a safe food for him.  To be honest, our family would buy Enjoy Life Foods products even if we did not have to be careful about allergens....they are that good!  Here is a bit of background behind one of my favorite food companies...

Enjoy Life Foods is a company whose products contain none of the 8 most common allergens (wheat/gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish or shellfish).  Big sigh of relief for so many!  The plant where all of Enjoy Life Foods are processed is also dedicated solely to being allergen free as well so there is no fear of cross contamination.  Enjoy Life Foods makes a wide variety of foods such as cereals, cookies, granola, trail mixes, snack bars, bagels and more. 

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have safe and tasty options for "W".  Such a relief as a mom to have yummy treats for my son!  When I was recently sent boxes of their latest goodies, Crunchy Cookies, our whole family dug right in!

There are four flavors of these crunchy goodies:  Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Vanilla Honey Graham and Sugar Crisp and they are all, in a word, AMAZING!  There is nothing about these cookies that says "I am missing something" which is sometimes the case in allergen free foods.  These cookies are sweet, crisp, crunchy and did not stand a chance in our house.  These yummy cookies are being gobbled right up at a staggering rate.  We have been using them to make one of our favorite summer treats, ice cream cookie sandwiches!  These crunchy cookies are sturdy enough and just the right size so make this sweet treat!

Bravo, once again, to Enjoy Life Foods for making yummy foods EVERYONE can enjoy!

Enjoy Life Foods....Review & Giveaway!

As I have mentioned before, my son "W" has a pretty severe tree nut allergy.  It is very stressful finding safe foods for him so when we find a brand dedicated to being allergy free we do a little happy dance around here.  When the company also makes delicious products we pretty much go bananas which is why we LOVE Enjoy Life Foods.  I discovered Enjoy Life Foods about a year ago and I have been a fan ever since.

Enjoy Life Foods is a company whose products contain none of the 8 most common allergens (wheat/gluten, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish or shellfish).  Big sigh of relief for so many!  The plant where all of Enjoy Life Foods are processed is also dedicated solely to being allergen free as well so there is no fear of cross contamination.  Enjoy Life Foods makes a wide variety of foods such as cereals, cookies, granola, trail mixes, snack bars, bagels and more.  This is great news for those limited to what they can eat because of food allergies!

When Enjoy Life Foods offered to send me two of their new products I was thrilled.  The day the package arrived "W" was particularly excited because when he sees the red Enjoy Life logo he knows the products inside the packaging are safe foods for him.  The excitement level rose when we saw what was inside...Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mega Chunks and Double Chocolate Crunch Granola.  It was a chocolate lovers delight!


We tore into the granola right away and it did not stand a chance.  I think it was gone within a day!  The taste was rich and chocolaty with  the perfect amount of sweetness.  Their was some serious crunch and no weird texture which I have found with other allergy free granola products.  This snack has become a real staple in our house for everyone (not just "W" although he does not like to share with this one!).


The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks the boys and I used in my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. We of course sampled a few chunks right out of the bag (hey...this is research!!) and they were delicious!  When the cookies came out of the oven the deal was sealed....the chocolate chunks were sweet, chocolaty, and "melty" just as they should be.  Thumbs up all around!

I think these two new products from Enjoy Life Foods are fantastic.   As a mom to a child with food allergies it is so important for me to find product that are safe for "W" while also being tasty and comparable to what others are eating.  Enjoy Life Foods allows me to give "W" the treats other people are eating without having to worry about a rogue nut...thank you Enjoy Life Foods!!!   Click HERE to find out where to buy in your area and online.

Wholly Wholesome Pie Shells...Review and Giveaway!
